The Hancock County Sheriff’s sent a warning to the public about a scam currently circulating within Hancock county.
The office received several calls in reference to a scammer saying they are with the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.
The caller states they have a warrant for your arrest.
Be aware the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office will not contact you directly informing you about a possible warrant and will not ask you to post a bond by purchasing gift cards.
If you receive a call of this nature just hang up the phone and do not give any of your personal information out.
