The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office received information Monday that more people are receiving phone calls from someone claiming to be one of the Lieutenants in the office.
The caller claims the person has missed a court date, and in some cases, they are asking for money.
The Hancock County Sheriff’s said that this is a scam.
They do not make calls of this nature.
You should not give any personal information to the callers.
You do not need to call the office unless you have given out any information or given money.
