The Hardin County Fair is excited to announce strong attendance numbers for the 2024 fair.
“We know that Friday saw rainy conditions and forced us to cancel the evening’s main attraction, the tractor pull,” said President Brad Murphy.
Tuesday yielded 6,065 guests, up 1,223 over last year. Wednesday saw 5,546 guests, an increase of 1,467 people. Thursday brought in 5,644 people, an increase of 1,213. Friday saw 6,158 – a decline of 179 people over 2023. Saturday saw 8,164 people, an increase of 1,818. The week ended on Sunday at 6,637, an increase of 1,016. On the week, 38,214 attended the fair, which is an increase of 6,558 over 2023. The 2024 fair saw the most people since 2019 and has been the best-attended fair since the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We don’t have great attendance numbers like these without a great fair – and we have our volunteers and exhibitors to thank for that,” said Jake McFadden, Fair Board Vice President. “We also have good weather and great entertainment to thank for a very successful Hardin County Fair.”
Entertainment attendance and finances are still being tabulated, but it has been noted that the Rodney Atkins with Bucky Covington Concert shattered the fair’s concert record, selling out at 3,561 tickets.
