This week the Hardin Northern FFA hosted their annual FFA chapter banquet on April 19. Over the past couple months, senior members have been working hard with FFA advisor Ms. Overs to organize the banquet to make it successful and enjoyable for those involved. This year we had 51 members and 129 guests present! In addition, we had 42 local businesses and individuals donate to our FFA Alumni raffle! The chapter is extremely appreciative of all the donations given to make this year’s banquet possible!

During the FFA banquet, seniors and the chapter officers recognized those who participated in Career Development Events and Leadership Development Events, and those who earned greenhand degrees, chapter degrees, and state degrees. The chapter also awarded four honorary degrees to those involved in our chapter and helped throughout the year; those honorees include Erika Uitto, Kasey Sanecki, Jodi Thiel and Mike Crist. Special awards were given throughout the night as well. Freshman, Lainey Thomas received the star greenhand for all of her hard work within the chapter this year. For local awards, Cadence Coy received the Distinguished Member Award and Ellie Curlis for the 110% award, which is sponsored by Ag Credit. Furthermore, at the banquet $4,800 in scholarships were awarded to chapter seniors. Thank you to all the generous individuals and organizations who provided these scholarship opportunities to support our chapter seniors.

At the end of the banquet, the chapter recognized our 5 platinum level sponsors, 3 gold level sponsors, and 3 blue level sponsors who made it possible for our chapter to go on trips and participate in other activities this school year. After Alyssa Heldman, this year’s president, gave her retiring address, Ms. Overs announced the 2023-2024 chapter officers. These officers include: President Cooper Thomas, Vice President Sean Kuhlman, Secretary Lainey Thomas, Treasurer Mason Stewart, and Sentinel Mariann Woodruff. The chapter is very proud of all the accomplishments made this past year and they are very excited for the upcoming year!
