The OhioHealth Hardin Wellness Center is excited to continue their annual tradition, the Turkey Trot, on Thanksgiving morning beginning at 8 a.m.
Aaron Burkett, director of the wellness center stated, “We wanted to create an annual event that promotes physical activity and a way to give back to our community. This event was created to do just that.”
The Turkey Trot is a family event (including any furry friends) that will take place on Thanksgiving morning, November 23, beginning at 8 a.m. at the Kenton High School Athletic Building.
Attendees can choose between a 1 or 3-mile course and there is no stipulation on how it is done – walk, run, bike, scooter, rollerblades or with a stroller. There is no pre-registration and the entry fee is a non- perishable food item or a monetary donation. The proceeds of the event will support Angels for the Elderly.
Angels for the Elderly has been serving Hardin County over 10 years and helps 90-100 families monthly. They are always in need of non-perishable items and toiletries. Mary Roby stated, “The program does what it can to serve the elderly population and she appreciates everything that people do throughout the year.”
