Heat Advisory in Effect; Kenton Middle and High Schools to Dismiss at 1

A heat advisory is in effect until 9 this evening.

The temperature will top off in the low 90’s, but the high humidity will create index readings up to 104 degrees.

You should drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. 

Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.

Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.

Heat stroke is an emergency, and you should call 9 1 1.

As a result of the heat, the Kenton Middle and High School will be dismissing students at 1 this (Thursday) afternoon.  

Buses will run at normal times and middle and high school students who ride buses home will be moved to one of the limited air-conditioned spaces in those buildings.
