HN Conducting Full Scale Evacuation Drill Thursday Morning

Hardin Northern will be conducting a full-scale evacuation drill in partnership with the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday (October 5). 

There will then be an announcement tomorrow morning that all staff and students need to be evacuated to a safe site, which is located at Wilson Farms on the crossroad of Township Road 135 and State Route 81. 

Staff and students will exit the building and walk down 81 to Wilson’s, under the supervision of the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office.  

Once at Wilson Farms, attendance will be taken and once everyone is accounted for, students will walk back to school. 

Upon return to school, a second drill will be conducted to determine how long it takes to fill buses with students and how long it takes for all students to exit the buses. 

Township Road 135 and State Route 81 will be closed by the Hardin County Sheriff’s Department during the drill, from 8:45 until the end of the exercise, which is about one hour.
