Jo Ann Erwin, 74 of Kenton passed away on Friday, June 19, 2020 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay.  She was born to Howard and Mary

(Robinson) Born on June 25, 1945 in Kenton Ohio.

She graduated from Mt. Victory – Dudley High School in 1963 and went to Business school in Columbus, Ohio. After a short engagement, Jo Ann married Daniel J Erwin on April 10, 1965.  Dan was enlisted in the US Army and was deployed to Italy where they spent the first three years of their married life. As Dan’s career in the military took the couple to New Jersey, North Carolina, Germany, and Kentucky, their family grew. After retiring in 1980, Dan and the family moved back to Kenton, where he became a telecommunications tech for Sprint. Jo Ann then began her dual careers as secretary for St. John’s United Church of Christ and bus driver for Kenton City Schools. Jo Ann retired after working both jobs for more than 30 years.  After retirement, she became a full-time volunteer with Keep Hardin County Beautiful, Love INC, Town and County Creators 4-H advisor, and Art Room volunteer.  Jo Ann had two great loves in her life, her family and her baking.  Jo Ann worked 60+ hours to put her children through college, but never missed a sporting event or school activities and made countless dozens of cookies for sporting events, bake sales, school events, chicken BBQs, Golf Scrambles and would do anything for anyone.

 

She is survived by her husband Daniel J Erwin; son, Paul J Erwin (Debbie) Pittsburg, PA and his family:Gregory Erwin, John Erwin; son, Eric P Erwin (Jada) Kenton, Ohio and his family:Kelsey(Jenson)

Holly,     Kylie (Elijah Manns) Erwin; daughter, Heather Erwin of Kenton.

Her brother Ronald Born is deceased, his family survives: Roxanne (Terry) Waider Tecumseh, MI; surviving sister Norma (John) Sieg, Mt. Victory and her children: Mark Sieg, Ridgeway and Patty Pfeiffer (deceased); sister, Mary (Wes) Kanzig and her children: Tammy Gault (Dewayne deceased)and Christopher Kanzig (deceased); brother,Gene Born (Betty Born, deceased), Mt Victory Howie Born, Mt. Victory; and sister-in-law, Kay (Gary) Stauffer, Kenton and her children: Jolene (Kevin) Born, Kenton Chris (Wes) Davis, Forest and Gina (Ryan) Rogers, Anna.

 

 

Visitation will be held from 2:00-8:00pm Friday, June 26, 2020 at St.

John’s Evangelical Church where the service will be held on Saturday, June

27, 2020 at 11:00am with an additional 1 hour of visitation prior to the

service (10-11:00am Saturday).  Pastor Randall Forrester and Pastor Scott

Johnson will officiate.  Burial will be in Grove Cemetery.  In lieu of

flowers memorials can be made to Keep Hardin County Beautiful, Love INC of

Hardin County, Not by Choice, or a charity of the Donor’s Choice.  Online
