The jury in the Charles Castle trial resumed deliberations this morning.

The seven women and five men deliberated for around three hours before breaking for the day on Monday.

This morning, the jury rewatched the video deposition of the girl that was recorded on July 7.

Nearly eight months after her ordeal, the girl recounted what happened to her on the night she was taken from her Leighton Street home in November of 2021.

She identified Chuck as the man who took her from her home and transported her to Chuck’s camper in his silver or gray colored van.

The then seven year old was recovered two nights later in the basement of an abandoned home on County Road 180.

She said the basement is Chuck’s bosses’ basement.

In her closing argument on Monday, defense attorney Elizabeth Smith told the jury that description is very specific for a seven year old to say, indicating that she may have been coached in how to answer questions.

The jury also requested a list of exhibits to review and then returned to the jury room at just before 9:30 this (Tuesday) morning.
