The Kenton Wildcats hosted the Kenton Holiday Baker Tournament Monday. Each team bowled 10 baker games with the top 8 pin totals advancing to the championship bracket.The Wildcats rolled a 1904 for their 10 bakers (199-127-200-186-171-198-203-207-213-200) to take the top seed in the championship bracket. Kenton drew Newton in the 1st round. The Wildcats defeated Newton in 2 games (238 – 160, 198 – 159) to move on to the semi-finals. In the other quarterfinal matches, Findlay defeated Parkway 141 – 176, 167 (49) – 167 (19), 204 – 135, Minster defeated Bluffton 151 – 184, 192 – 135, 201 – 152, and River Valley defeated Marion-Harding 189 – 135, 187 – 156.The semifinals saw Kenton beat River Valley in 3 games (193 – 183, 185 – 223, 200 – 169) and Minster beat Findlay 236 – 192, 197 – 127.The finals were a great culmination to the tournament as it went down to the final 2 frames in the 3rd game. Minster won the fisrt game 205 – 168. Kenton responded, winning the second game 179 – 159. Kenton was able to complete the comeback with a 194 – 180 final game to win the tournament.The Wildcats are off until January 6 when they host Bath at Hillcrest Lanes @ 5:00pm.
