Kenton City Council met for its 2nd regular session of 2024 on Monday evening. During the meeting, Safety Service Director Cindy Murray shared that the city recently had the pre-con meeting for the downtown project and that construction will begin at the end of February/early March.
Later in the meeting, Ordinance 24-001 was passed. This ordinance allowed firefighter Pitts to receive $12,000 in severance pay. An additional $12,000 was added to the water fund to pay a contractor as the grace period with the EPA for having a class 2 operator of record on staff has come to an end. The contract with the operator is for 30 days.
Previously discussed ordinance 23-036 was also passed.
The next meeting of Kenton City Council will be on February 12th.
