The Kenton girls tennis team lost to St. Mary’s Tuesday night 5-0.

“We came out playing well tonight, but lost our confidence as St. Mary’s responded,” said coach Katie Isenbarger. “I was really hoping we could win a few positions tonight since St. Mary’s is also a young team. We were believing in many of our first sets, but lost confidence as the match continued. Right now we are young and have the strokes but really need to focus on working on our mental game. I hope the girls can take this match as a learning moment and can get ready for our home match Thursday.”

In singles play, first singles Mykaela Schriber fell in a close match to St. Mary’s Allie Vanderhorst 7-5, 6-3.

Second singles Lily Osborn was topped 6-0, 6-1 by St. Mary’s Grace Dodson.

Third singles of Kenton Grace Collins lost to Charley Spencer of St. Mary’s 6-3, 6-0.

The first doubles team of Kayce Sherman and Aaliyah Rogers of Kenton lost 7-5, 6-0 to St. Mary’s team of Allyson Tagle and Jaden Gibson.

Kenton’s second doubles Samantha Lowe and Angel Chen were topped by Alivia Sawmiller and Ashley Dawson 6-0, 6-1.
