A Kenton man was cited for the theft of government property on Wednesday.
According to the report from the Kenton Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Morningside Drive to investigate and found the suspect refused to give back a cell phone that belonged to the U.S. Census Bureau.
The officer stated that he gave the suspect the option of giving back the phone to his former employer or a citation would be issued.
The suspect, identified as Martin C. Eberwein, age 40, still refused to give back the property and was then issued a summons for theft.
The incident remains under investigation.
