Kenton Rotary Hears from Occupational Therapist

Andrea Wilkerson, Occupational Therapist specializing in pelvic health and owner of Wilks Therapy LLC, located in downtown Kenton beside Depot #9, spoke to Kenton Rotary at the request of, 20 + year member, Virginia Tice.

Andrea explained the function and importance of the pelvic floor. The pelvic floor helps with bladder control, leakage and prolapse issues. Breathing is the building block to pelvic health,; Inhale, expand and exhale recoil. To relax the pelvic floor a technique called 360 breathing, where you expand your lungs fully, meditation, Yoga and deep squats. To strengthen the pelvic floor, lifting exercises that help engage your core muscles and Kegels.
