Kenton School Board Approves OAPSE and Administrative Contracts; Hires Jones as High School Principal

The Kenton City Schools Board of Education held a special meeting Wednesday evening to take care of several personnel items.

The Board approved a two year contract with Ohio Association of Public School Employees for the 2021 through 2023 school years.

The administrative personnel contract for the 2021-2023 school years and well as the administrative contract salary increases for the 2021-2023 school years were also approved.

Jason Jones was approved as the new High School Principal. 

The two year contract is at a salary of $87,900 per year.

He assumes the position vacated by Chad Thrush, who steps into the Superintendent’s position effective today.

Jones was elevated from the Assistant Principal’s position at the High School.

Brad Blue was approved to fill that role at the High School.

Also at the special meeting, Mike Leddy was approved as Director of Student Services, 7-12 Special Education Coordinator and Safety Coordinator and Clint Sneary was hired as Kenton Elementary School Associate Principal for the 2021 through 2023 school years.

The next regular meeting of the Kenton Board of Education is scheduled for July 12.
