A Lima man was convicted on charges connected to the murder of an 18 month old child last year.

The Lima News reported that 32 year old Gabriel Salyers was found guilty of murder, three counts of endangering children, one count of domestic violence and one count of possession of drugs.

He was found not guilty on the most serious charge of aggravated murder.

The jury deliberated for five hours before returning with the verdicts.

Allen County Common Pleas Court Judge Jeffrey Reed then sentenced Salyers to 31 years in prison.

18 month old Jaxxon Sullivan suffered extensive head injuries on Easter Sunday of 2018. He was taken to a Toledo hospital where he died two days later after being taken off life support.

The infant’s mother is also charged with involuntary manslaughter in her son’s violent death.
