Man Arrested After Abduction Investigation in Findlay

A Findlay man was arrested after an abduction was reported to the Findlay Police Department Monday.

According to a release, a woman arrived at Millstream Career Center who was described as being in distress.

Findlay police officers were dispatched and after talking to her, they discovered that she had been bound and held against her will in a trailer near the school.

Officers located the trailer at the rear of 718 College Street, and a male suspect arrived on scene.

Dewayne Vanatta, age 60, was taken into custody without incident. 

He is being held at the Hancock County Justice Center on charges of kidnapping.  

The woman was transported to Blanchard Valley Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
