The death of a man in Marion has been determined to be a homicide, and a suspect has been arrested.
According to a release from the Marion Police Department, officers were dispatched around 9:30 Tuesday night to an apartment at 439 Smith Street where they found the body of 41 year old Jeremy T. Clements.
At just before midnight, police arrested Benjamin B. Lopez, who was said to have been an acquaintance of Clements, at a residence at 329 East Fairground Street.
Lopez was transported to the Multi County Jail on an initial charge of murder.
Marion Police Chief Bill Collins called Clements murder tragic and senseless, but he offered no other details citing the continuing investigation.
