Marion Correctional Institution Inmate Dies of COVID-19

Marion Public Health has confirmed an inmate at Marion Correctional Institution has died. 

The 74 year old man had been hospitalized after testing positive for COVID-19.

The department released a statement today that reads, “While we recognize the severity of the crimes that led to his incarceration, we want to express our deepest sympathies to his family and friends. ”

Any additional information about the inmate will not be released to respect his family’s privacy.
