Marion Troopers Investigating a Serious Injury Crash

Marion – Troopers from the Marion Post are investigating a serious injury crash that occurred on October 6, 2023, at approximately 12:23 PM, on State Route 4 north of Morral Kirkpatrick Road in Marion County.

The crash involved a 2008 Acura RDX, driven by Lorenzo R.P. Johnson, age 45, of Marion, Ohio.

The preliminary investigation indicates Mr. Johnson was traveling southbound on State Route 4 when his vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway.

Once off road, the Acura struck a boulder and a residence before overturning.

Johnson was transported from the scene by Med Flight to The Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.

An occupant of the residence was also injured as a result of the cra sh. He was transported to Marion General Hospital by Marion Township EMS.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, 1st Consolidated Fire and EMS, Salt Rock Township Fire and EMS, Marion Township Fire and EMS, and Buckeye Collision Towing.

The crash remains under investigation.
