Mary E. Hochstettler

Mary E. Hochstettler, age 92 formerly of Wharton, died October 2, 2020, in Richmond Texas. She was born October 20, 1927 in Arcadia, OH to the late Albert O. and Lottie (Andrews) Garrett. On October 1, 1955 she married A. Jack Hochstettler, and he preceded her in death.

Mary is survived by a son, Patrick (Cheryl) Hochstettler of Richmond Texas and five grandchildren, Sam, Rachel, Sarah, Jacob, and Peter Hochstettler. She is preceded in death by her siblings Martha Killien, Ruth Wighaman, Paul Garrett, Gene Garrett, Laura Miller, Dick Garrett, Fran Phillips.

Mary graduated from Arcadia High School. She was employed as an Executive Secretary at Marathon Oil Company and also the Bureau of Motor Vehicles in Upper Sandusky. For hobbies she enjoyed bowling, gardening, and playing bridge with her bridge club.

Visitation will be held Friday October 9, 2020 from 10am until noon at Clark Shields Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at Wharton Richland Union Cemetery, Wharton with Dennis Livingston officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of Clark Shields Funeral Home, 301 S. Patterson St. Forest, OH.
