Senior citizens are being alerted about a Medicare scam.
Scammers will call, text or email about free gifts from Medicare.
They will often spoof phone numbers to make it appear that Medicare is calling or create an email account that looks like Medicare.
They then pretend to be an authorized representative who just needs to verify the Medicare number.
Senior citizens who have had this happen to them should call the Ohio Senior Medicare Patrol at (800) 293-4767, and they will check their account for suspicious activity.
