Minutes from Lions Oct 18 Meeting Released

The Kenton Lions club held its meeting on Wednesday Oct. 18th, 2023, at the Kenton Elks. The meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm by Lion President Lion Jason Vanbuskirk with 16 members and one potential member present.

Lion President Lion Jason Vanbuskirk led the pledge and the prayer. The meeting was adjourned and reconvened at 6:54 pm following a meal.

Old Business:

Lion Kirk Cameron reported that the Business/Vendor list was updated for the banners and members discussed who would contact the businesses/vendors.

President Lion Jason reiterated that the money raised after costs of the banners stays local and is used to complete projects. Lion President Lion Jason Vanbuskirk read a report on the Pioneer Park Project from Lion Joe Burbbacher. Lion Joe requested that the members discuss quotes to be engraved on the stone at the park. President Lion Jason also reported in the letter to the club that the Mayor of Kenton has offered two benches to be located at the park. Lion Bill Keller reported that the Head Stone located by the small fence has been primed and we are waiting for warmer weather to finish.

Lion President Lion Jason encouraged members to check their email for opportunities to help.

New Business:

Lion Judd Robinson Reported that Lion Todd Oates will be in charge of the eyeglasses recycling project. Lion Bill Keller reported that he was approached by Sam Norris, Director of the Mary-Lou Johnson Hardin County District Library for a donation to help with the purchase of 1500 Solar Glasses that he will be giving out for those who need them. A motion to give $400 to the MLJ Hardin County District Library towards the Solar Glasses was made by Lion Kirk with a 2nd to the motion by Lion Bill Keller. Motion Passed. Lion Bob Burgbacher reported that the Bowling For Santa Event will be on Saturday, Dec. 16th from 2-5 pm at Hillcrest Lanes.

New member Derrick Menard, sponsored by Lion Chad Spencer, was voted in by Kenton Lions.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:55 pm. Followed by the singing of the Lions Roar.
