COLUMBUS – Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose today announced 9,935 new entities filed to do business in Ohio in June. With nearly 70,000 new business entities created in the first six months, Ohio is almost 3,000 filings ahead of last year’s record-setting pace.

“Now more than ever, Ohio is becoming the place to be to start a business,” said LaRose. “Our office is already implementing innovative, exciting ways to connect these new job creators to the resources they need to grow and succeed.”

Recently, both CNBC (Top States for Business) and US News (Best States for Opportunity) listed Ohio in their annual top ten. The ratings, verified with positive business growth, indicate Ohio’s strong momentum is expected to continue.

NOTE: New business filings are classified as forms filed with the Ohio Secretary of State that declare the formation of a business entity, including for-profit, non-profit and professional corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships, limited partnerships and limited liability partnerships. Filing as a business in Ohio does not guarantee the company will begin operations, be profitable, or create jobs.
