New Police Chief Hired for Ada Police Department

The Ada Police Department will have a new Chief in the new year.

Ada Village Council this week officially hired Chief Alec Cooper with a start date of January 9.

Cooper served for the past five years as a sergeant for the City of Delphos Police Department.  

Prior to his time with Delphos, he was with the Ada Police Department for approximately 7 and a half years serving as a dispatcher, full-time and part-time officer.  

Cooper will be attending New Chief of Police Training and Police Executive Leadership College in early 2023, along with some day courses as he begins his training for the position.

Chief Michael Harnishfeger will be working in an advisory role until his official retirement date at the end of June 2023.
