Motorists are being reminded that in many cases, injuries and deaths among children 13 and under can be prevented with the proper use of car seats, boosters, and seat belts.

Yet nearly half of all car seats are installed incorrectly, which means your child may not be traveling as safely as possible.

Every 32 seconds, one child under the age of 13 in a passenger vehicle is involved in a crash throughout the United States.

To help keep children safe on our roads, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is sponsoring Child Passenger Safety Week from now through September 21.

The goal is to make sure your child is in the correct car seat, that it’s properly installed and used, and that it’s registered with its manufacturer to ensure you receive important safety updates.
