The Northwest Ohio Railroad Preservation Society in Findlay hosted their Mid-Summer Family Fun Days over the weekend on July 27th and 28th.
With the help of the YWCA of Northwest Ohio, WKTN was able to not only support the event with music and giveaways but also sponsor admission for over 250 guests over the course of the weekend.
Guests were able to ride their ¼ scale steam engines, enjoy minigolf, mazes, bounce houses, and savor the concessions of Mandy Lynn’s Lemon Sizzle on Saturday and KONA Ice throughout the weekend.
Saturday hosted a Small Train Layout Expo by regional enthusiasts.
This aimed to show guests that regardless of the space they’re able to make, there’s always room for a train!
WKTN was joined by the YWCA on Saturday and Hancock County Job and Family Services on Sunday where they informed the public on the many benefits of choosing to become a foster family to a child in need.
They provided materials on services and support available to foster families. Any interested parties should contact the YWCA for more details.
