Heat index values are forecast to be in the middle to upper 90s this afternoon.

Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.

There is the potential for severe weather this afternoon and evening.

The National Weather Service stated that damaging winds and large hail are the primary threat, but a tornado cannot be ruled out.
