She was born on July 16, 1962, in Franklin, Ohio to the late Kenneth and Clair (Farmer) Plummer. She married Eric L. McKinley on April 11, 2000, and he survives in Mt. Victory.

Also surviving are 1 son, Kenneth Haycook, 2 daughters; Heather Childress and Kelsey McKinley, stepson, Cameron McKinley, 4 grandchildren; Tristan Griesheimer, Brooke Griesheimer, Hannah Childress, Memphis McKinley, 1 brother, Ted (Lora) Plummer and sister, Kim Wallace.

Bev attended church at the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church in Kenton.

She retired from the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections in 2016, after 30 years at the O.R.W. Bev was recognized as employer of the year in 2013. She was also recognized as Training Officer of the year in 2014. Bev worked with the American Red Cross to incorporate all blood drives at the Ohio Reformatory for Women and started a recycling program that spanned over the entire corrections department which saved the state $41,000.00 in 5 years at O.R.W. She was a Glock Certified Instructor, PR 24 instructor, and self-defense instructor.

Bev enjoyed gardening and camping in her retirement. She planted a lot of flowers and always had fresh flowers inside to brighten things up. Most of all she loved her family and friends, more than anything in the world and couldn’t wait for them to show up at her door.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, January 16, 2026, the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church in Kenton with Pastor James Goldsmith officiating. Burial will follow at Otterbein Cemetery. Friends and family may visit 2 hours prior to the services at the church. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Mt. Victory is assisting the family with arrangements.
