Carl D. Gamble
May 17, 1934 – February 20, 2026

Carl D. Gamble, age 91, of Forest, passed away on February 20, 2026, at Lima Memorial Hospital. He was born May 17, 1934, in Fairmont, West Virginia, to the late Ira W. Gamble and Nettie O. (Efaw) Gamble.

Carl married Patricia J. (Hamilton) Gamble, and she survives in Forest. Also surviving are his children, Robin Burd, Carl Gamble II, and Bruce Gamble, all of Forest; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Jeri Gamble of North Carolina; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers Ralph (Mary Jo) Gamble, Glenn (Rebecca) Gamble, Don Gamble, a sister Clara Lee (Kenneth) Richard, and a son-in-law, Robert “Bob” Burd.

Carl was an engineer with United Aircraft Products for over 20 years, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and took great pride in restoring his 2002 Chevy Avalanche. He especially cherished time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and with all of his family—most of all his beloved wife, Patricia.

Carl also enjoyed dining out and treasured the companionship of his little dog, Duke.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Clark Shields Funeral Home, with Pastor Don Ayers officiating. Interment will follow at Houston Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
