Obituary for Franklin J. Arnold

Franklin J. Arnold age 87 of Upper Sandusky, died Mar. 10, 2025 at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was born Aug. 12, 1937 in Wyandot County to the late Cletus R. and Florence E. (Rall) Arnold. On June 26, 1965 he married his loving and supportive wife, Rosetta Lucius,she survives in Upper Sandusky. Frank is also survived by his children Anthony (Denise), Harpster, William (Michelle), Frisco, TX, Edward (Jane), Upper Sandusky, Matthew (Jennifer), Upper Sandusky and Laura (David) Lawrence, Powell, grandchildren Kiley (Nick) Bell, Brice (Beth), Lia, Benjamin, Adam, Kendel, Franklin, Ellianna, Giovanna, Vivian, Murielle Arnold, Cameron, Parker and Alex Lawrence, great grandchildren Judah, Eden, and Micah Bell, Theo and Addilynn Arnold. Mr. Arnold is preceded in death by a sister Florine Howard and brothers Patrick, Robert, and Richard Arnold.

Mr. Arnold was a 1955 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School. He was a member of Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church and served on the Parish Council & the Hospitality Committee. Frank was a lifelong grain and livestock farmer, and bailed hay for many years. He could be found in his bib overalls visiting and doing business with the Amish. When not farming, he was often busy collecting maple syrup, plowing snow or shearing sheep.

Frank was member of Knights of Columbus #2050, Wyandot County Farm Bureau-Country Cousins, and was a 4-H Advisor for the Mifflin Jolly Farmers. His hobbies included camping with his family, playing euchre, and being outdoors. He was a mentor to many young nephews and neighbors. He was known for his story telling and sense of humor. Frank was an avid outdoorsman, particularly enjoying fishing, trapping, hunting waterfowl, raccoon and deer; leading Arnold’s Army deer hunting group. As a young man, he enjoyed bowling, participating in fast pitch softball, dancing with the love of his life Rose, and listening to country and western music. He was an OSU Buckeye fan, but attending his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events was one of his favorite pastimes. Frank enjoyed traveling the open road first as a young man on his motorcycle across the country and in his later years, in his Ford F250 traveling the back roads of Mifflin Township with his beloved dog Yoder, looking at the crops. As a loving husband and father, he always thought of his children as his greatest accomplishment.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM on Mon. Mar. 17, 2025 in the Transfiguration of The Lord Catholic Church with Father Savio Manavalan OFM Conv. & Deacon Kevin Wintersteller officiating. Interment will follow in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sun. Mar. 16, 2025 from 1:00PM-3:00PM at Bringman Clark Funeral Home. A Catholic Prayer Service will be held at 3:00PM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Transfiguration of The Lord Catholic Church or Wyandot Memorial Hospice in care of Bringman Clark Funeral Home 226 East Wyandot Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
