Jacqueline Eileen Evans left her earthly body and returned home to Jesus on Wednesday, February 25th, 2026, surrounded by family and loved ones. She was born May 6th, 1961, to the late George and Phyllis (Hamilton) Westlake. She is preceded in death by her loving son, Dean Evans, her brother, Gregory Westlake and her nephew, Samuel Westlake.
She is survived by the love of her life and husband of 40 years, Dennis Evans. She is also survived by her daughter, Megan Frank and grandchildren, Brycyn and London, siblings, Michael Westlake and Cindy Robinson, nephews Chris Robinson (Trish), Zachary Westlake (Sarah), Jeremiah Westlake (Holly), and nieces Nikki Perkins (Carl) and Samantha Westlake. Also many nephews and a niece on Dennis’ side. She leaves behind her two dogs, Ruby and Tilly.
Jackie worked for 20+ years in the school system and enjoyed every minute with every single child. She spent 20+ years caring for her mother-in-law, Margaret Evans and was a true angel on earth in her caregiving abilities. After leaving the school, she listened to that calling and began caring for the elderly in their home which was where she really shined. She saw multiple people to the end of their lives and gave them only the best care.
In her free time Jackie enjoyed gardening while surrounded by hundreds of hummingbirds that she fed daily. Her family was her North Star and she loved them endlessly.
Jackie was known for her loving and giving spirit and brought meaning to the word “selfless.” She will be remembered as a pillar in her family, as well as for her undying humor which she maintained through her last days. Her ability to make any day seem brighter, with one single sentence, will never be forgotten. We will miss her deeply.
Funeral services for Jackie will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Mt. Victory. Burial will follow at Byhalia Cemetery. Friends and family may visit from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, March 2, 2026, at the funeral home.
Memorial donations in Jackie’s honor may be made to the Hardin County Council on Aging.
