Obituary for James Todd Hammer

James Todd Hammer, age 63, passed away on January 17, 2026, at Marion General Hospital. He was born on October 28, 1962, in Dayton, Kentucky, to the late James Calvin Hammer and Pamela “Napier” Heskett (Dr. Lynn Heskett). He was preceded in death by his parents.

James is survived by his children, John Phillip Hammer and Christopher James Hammer (Blake Underwood); his granddaughter, Lily Hammer; and his brother, Jason Heskett.

James was employed as a Reservations Sales Agent with Delta Air Lines from 1987 to 2009. He took great pride in his work and enjoyed connecting with people throughout his career.

James found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He enjoyed going out for karaoke, playing his keyboards, and watching college basketball—especially the March Madness Tournament. He was a devoted fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and Cincinnati Reds and enjoyed collecting baseball cards and coins. James will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew him.
