Marilyn A Baughman
June 4, 1932 – March 9, 2026

Marilyn Ann Hufford Barth Baughman, 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at her residence on Monday, March 9, 2026.

She was born June 4, 1932, in Belle Vernon, Ohio, to Joseph Smith Hufford and Dorotha Eloise Biller Hufford Gooding. Her mother later married Monford Harry Gooding on March 11, 1973; they all preceded her in death.

Marilyn first married Merle Leroy Barth on October 8, 1950. He preceded her in death on July 2, 1977. She later married Clarence Eugene Baughman on September 13, 1981. He preceded her in death on March 10, 2012.

Marilyn worked for Ruttmann Construction Company beginning May 24, 1964, until her retirement on August 31, 1981. She was a faithful and active member of Wesley Chapel, where she served as a Sunday School teacher. Throughout her life she also volunteered in the offices of churches in McCutchenville, including Upper Sandusky United Church of Christ, First Church of God, and Wesley Chapel.

Marilyn was deeply involved in her community and numerous organizations. She was a longtime member of the McCutchenville Wm. Myers Chapter #196 Order of the Eastern Star for 67 years, having joined in 1953. She served as Worthy Matron in 1964 and as Grand Page in 1968. She also served as Rainbow Mother Advisor and was a member of the Advisory Board.

Her many community activities included Treasurer of the Wyandot County Senior Citizens Club, member of the Happy Hookers, Wyandot County Council on Aging Exercise Group, she was 2023 Senior Citizens of the year. Member of the Red Hat Society, member of Friends of the Library and Library Cooking Group.

She served as President of the Wyandot Memorial Hospital Guild and Chairman of the WMH Silent Auction, Treasurer of the Upper Sandusky High School Band Parents, Junior and Senior Counselor of Eden Homemakers, member of Mary’s Circle, committee member of the McCutchenville Alumni Association, and volunteer at Wyandot Memorial Hospital since 2007. Marilyn also served as Presiding Judge for the Wyandot County Board of Elections until 2020.

Marilyn enjoyed many hobbies including playing cards, playing the keyboard, reading, gardening, canning and freezing produce, baking, entertaining family and friends, and traveling throughout most of the United States and parts of Canada. She especially loved the Christmas season and took great joy in decorating her home and hosting gatherings. Above all, Marilyn treasured time spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family.

She is survived by her children: Debra Ann (Dale Michael) Woods of Delaware, Ohio; Pamela Jane (Michael Jay) Dick of London, OH; and daughter-in-law Debra Jean Kelly Barth of Byhlia, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her son, Douglas Merle Barth, who passed away September 9, 2010.

Marilyn is also survived by her grandchildren: Angela Marie (David) Hartman of Byhlia, Mississippi; Kevin Michael (Erin McGraw) Woods of Delaware, Ohio; Leann Michelle Woods of Columbus, Ohio; and Jennifer Marie (Travis) Moore of Columbus, Ohio.

Her great-grandchildren include Peyton Henley Bowman, Hayden Brooke Woods, Brayden Chase Woods, Kendall Leighton Bowman, and Truman Michael Moore, Spencer Ann Moore. She was preceded in death by her great-grandson Tyler Michael Woods on December 16, 2004.

She is also survived by her stepchildren: Rebecca Baughman Estes of West Plains, Missouri; Renee Baughman of Summerville, South Carolina; Roberta Baughman Hill of Fayetteville, Arkansas; Rhonda Baughman of Winflow, Arkansas; and Roxanne (Steve) King of Summerville, South Carolina. Step-grandchildren include Arwen Estes, Bronwyn Estes Aust, Barrett Estes, Lydia Baughman Hughes, Christopher Johnson, Sam Hill, and Ethan King. She was preceded in death by her step-grandson Matthew King on April 19, 2010. She is also survived by many step great-grandchildren.

Marilyn is survived by her siblings Judith Kathryn (Bob) Ward Moran of Perrysburg, Ohio; Virginia Sue (Cloyce) Gilliland of McCutchenville, Ohio; Vicki Lynn (Edward) Kaple of New Washington, Ohio; and Donald Michael (Lois Pool) Hufford of Sycamore, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her siblings Betty Jo (Don) Hannum, Frederic Daryl Hufford, Mildred (Hubert) Risner, Martha (Bob) Jones, Arlene (Don) Consoli, and Leota (Fritz) Gardt. Marilyn is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Her life was defined by faith, service to her community, and deep devotion to her family. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and the joy she brought to those around her.

Visitation will be held Friday March 13, 2026 from 4pm-7pm and on Saturday March 14, 2026 from 10am-11am at Bringman Clark Funeral Home. A funeral will be on Saturday March 14, 2026 at 11am at the funeral home with Pastor Brad McKibben officiating. Burial will follow at Old Mission Cemetery.
