Paul David Clum
November 18, 1958 – December 24, 2025

Paul David Clum, age 67, unexpectedly passed away on December 24, 2025 after spending a joyful holiday surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Paul was born on November 18, 1958, in Lima, Ohio, to James C. and Frances (Everette) Clum.

Paul was a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, and loyal friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Rita; his sons, Luke (Stefanie) and Lason (Nikki); and his four grandchildren, Sydni, Makenzi, Wyatt, and Wade. He is also survived by his brothers, Bruce and Keith (Rachel), and his sister-in-law, Nancy. As well as countless nieces, nephews.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Mark and Hugh; and his sisters-in-law, Kathy and Peggy.

Paul worked in skilled trades for most of his life. In his younger years, he owned and operated a body shop, taking pride in his craftsmanship and strong work ethic.

In his spare time, Paul enjoyed restoring antique engines and mentoring younger people. Guided by his motto, “If man made it, man can make it run,” he was always searching for the next project to repair and bring back to life. His passions included restoring countless John Deere tractors and hit-and-miss engines, and completing a lifelong dream of restoring a 1915 Case steam engine tractor in 2015. Paul was truly one of a kind and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A memorial service will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at the Zion Lutheran Church, 101 East Main Street, LaFayette, Ohio 45854.
