Funeral services for Arthur Leland Gossard will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, March 11, 2024, at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with Pastor Gregg King officiating. Friends and family may visit 1 hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Grove Cemetery in Kenton.
Lee was born on July 10, 1939, in Kenton to the late Derwin and Eleanor (Jordan) Gossard of Ridgeway, OH.
Surviving is his wife: Beverly (Resch) and children: Gregory (Anne Anderson) Gossard, LeeAnn (Ted) Pisarchuk, Steven (Craig Kosnich) Gossard; his sister: Janet Fetters, grandchildren: Laura (Corey) Sharits, Katie Gossard, Phillip Gossard, Christopher Pisarchuk, Steven (Hayley) Pisarchuk; great-grandchildren: Dakota, Alexa, and Jaxon Sharits, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Jolliff.
Leland in his younger days built and raced go karts, worked at Rockwell International and farmed. He served on Ridgeway’s Village Council. Most recently he owned and transformed Pigeon Bay Campgrounds in Indian River, MI, from a 5-cabin fishing camp to a 55 lot RV campground on Mullett Lake.
He was a member of the Eagles and Moose Lodge and did charitable work in Costa Rica, bringing shoes to children.
In his free time Lee enjoyed traveling with the entire family, golfing and could not get his fill of fishing.
Memorial donations in Leland’s honor may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
