A celebration of life for Betty Jean Pitts will be held at a later date. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.

Betty died on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at the Marion General Hospital. She was born on May 15, 1949 to the late Richard Foust and Opal (Allen) Wones. She married William Rice and they later divorced, she then married Roger Pitts and they also divorced.

Surviving are a sister; Sondra (David) Pitts of Mt. Victory, sister-in-law; Bonnie Foust of Russells Point, 3 grandchildren; Ricki (Ryan) Downing of Bellefontaine, Nichole Shulaw of Quincy, Bry Shulaw of Quincy, 3 great-grandchildren; Brileigh, Lane and Emma Downing, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter; Robin Shulaw and 2 brothers; Richard Foust and David Foust.

Betty worked as a nurse’s aide in various nursing homes in Marion and Bellefontaine.

Betty enjoyed doing crafts and making flower arrangements.

Her true passion was her family. She loved to spend time with them, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff at Seton Kenton for accepting Betty like one of their own.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Betty’s honor may be made to the funeral home in care of the family.
