A funeral service for Betty Lou Helton will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, February 19, 2021, at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with Pastor Denny Livingston officiating. Burial will follow at Otterbein Cemetery. Friends and family may visit two hours prior to services at the funeral home. Masks will be required and Covid-19 protocols should be followed.
She died on Monday, February 15, 2021 at her residence. She was born on November 30, 1943 in Kenton to the late Harrold and Irene (Risner) Legge. She married Burl Helton Sr and they later divorced.
Surviving are daughter June Helton of Kenton, sons Burl (Nikki) Helton of Belle Center and Kurt Helton of Kenton, sister Mary Herron of Hepburn, brothers David (Carol) Legge of Hepburn and Jim (Janice) Legge of Hepburn, 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by son Robert Helton, daughter Lesa Helton, sister Peg Huber, brothers Ray Legge and William Legge, and grandsons Andrew Helton and Jeremiah Helton.
Betty worked at RBM in Kenton for many years, then took a position at Siemens in Bellefontaine before her retirement.
Betty enjoyed reading her Bible, listening to gospel music, and going for long car rides across the state. She loved her family, and spending time with her children and grandchildren made her the happiest.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the funeral home in care of the family. Online condolences may be expressed at pricefh.net.
