Obituary for Billy E. Nichols

Billy E. Nichols, Kenton, passed away at his home in Upper Sandusky on Friday, November 19, 2021, with his son at his side. He was born on April 25, 1938 in Hardin County, Ohio to Lola Wireman and Alfred Nichols. On August 28, 1958 in Salyersville, Kentucky, he married Audrey Mae Lenhart, she passed away on January 1, 2019.

Bill and Audrey celebrated over 60 years of marriage and had 3 children: Patty Nichols Inman (deceased) of Kenton, Billy Nichols(deceased) of Upper Sandusky, and Bob (Chastity) Nichols, of Upper Sandusky. They had 9 grandchildren: Melissa Shepherd (Coty Coffman), Galion, April (Misty) Thiel, Kenton, Chris (Laisha) Thiel, Kenton, Scott (Butch) Thiel (Allison Snyder), Kirby, and Eli Bleau Inman (Sondra Cole) of Kenton, Brittney Castle (Kenny Poling III), Kenton, and Sophia, Madeline Audrey, and William “Billy” Nichols of Upper Sandusky. Also 10 Great-Grandchildren: Grady and Ava Newman, Brody, Adalynn, and Raelynn Thiel, and Alaina Mae Thiel and Isabella Burchiel, Miela and Malic Thiel, and Makavin Woodruff. And his beloved dogs, Otie (deceased) and Coco.

Bill worked over the years at International Car and retired from Rockwell in Kenton, Ohio. He also served in The Ohio National Guard. He was a Ham Radio Operator and CB enthusiast, with Lil Abner and Daisy Mae as his and Audrey’s CB handles. Bill enjoyed working on cars, playing cards, camping, and boating. And he and Audrey loved holding family cookouts and hosting holiday gatherings. They always welcomed friends and family into their home. They both will be greatly missed.    

He will be joined once again with the love of his life and laid to rest at Jackson Center Cemetery in Wyandot County, Ohio. A celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date.
