Obituary for Carolyn Ann Bates

Carolyn Ann Bates, 78 of Kenton passed away at Marion General Hospital on Saturday, February 19, 2022.  She was born in Kenton on May 26, 1943 to the late Rollan and Bessie (Parthmore) Detwiler.  She married Donald E. Bates and he preceded her in death on Feb. 20, 2010.  She is survived by sons, Junior (Darcie) Miller II of Bellefontaine, James Curl of Lakeview, Johnny Bates of McGuffey, Jack Curl, Jr. of Bucyrus and Charles Morris  of Kenton; daughter, Anita Morris of Kenton; brother, Bill Detwiler of FL and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was also preceded in death by children, Ronald Bates, Robert Bates, David Bates and Renee Bates.  
She was a graduate of Kenton High School and enjoyed crafts, working outside, helping others and was an animal lover.
Visitation will be held from 10:00am-12:00pm Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME.  No service will be held.  Online condolences can be shared with the family by visiting stoutcrates.com.
