Charles Boyd, 72, of Forest, passed away at 9:21 p.m., Friday, February 11, 2022, at Marion General Hospital, Marion. He was born on April 15, 1949, in Tiffin to the late Thomas and Imogene (Updike Dent) Boyd. He was married to Phyllis Lynch for 20 years and had 2 children, who were the loves of his life. He was later married to Marge York for 5 years and Penny Iulianelli for 16 years.
Charles is survived by his son, Michael (Tracy) Boyd of Winter Haven, FL; daughter, Heather (Chad) Howard of Findlay; sisters: Mary Jane Daughenbaugh of Troy and Leona (Tom) Carlin of Tiffin; brother, Teddy Boyd of Tiffin; grandchildren: Ashlee (Greg) Nelson, Dallas (Chris) Boyd, Dakota Boyd, Andrew Boyd and Lizzie Saracson; 3 great-grandsons; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Rose Hites of Kenton.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, George Boyd; and a sister, Margaret Boyd.
Charles retired from the U.S. Navy as an E-9 Command Master Chief after 23 years of service. He was a graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School, and later attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He was formerly a member of the Kiwanis. Charles enjoyed spending time at the family cottage, traveling, all animals, but his greatest love in life was his family, his farm, his country and God.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 17, 2022, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, where full military rites will be conducted by the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad. Mark Daughenbaugh officiating.
Burial with full military honors will be in Arlington National Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME.
