Charles E. Moore, 78 of Alger, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at his residence. He was born in Belle Center, Ohio on September 17, 1945 to the late Robert Lee and Madge (Shepherd) Moore. Charles married Wanda L. Combs on November 30, 1963 and she preceded him in death on February 26, 2004.  He is survived by his children; Quint (Rhonda) Moore of West Mansfield, Brent (Melissa) Moore of Kenton, Charles “Chuck” (Kristin) Moore of Mt. Victory, Heath “Spanky” (Shawna) Moore of Bellefontaine, Lori (Mike) Lane of Lakeview, Jo Ann (Jim) Castle of Hilliard and a special son, Krit (Robin) Combs of GA. Mr. Moore is also survived by his brother,  Bill Dennis Moore, sister, Corine Moore both of Belle Center, twenty four grandchildren and twenty seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Gordon, brothers; Clarence, Hazard, Otmer, Dayers and Bob Moore and sisters; Goldie Moore and Alene Davis. Charles worked for 44 years for Wilson Sporting Good. During his career, he only took two sick days and was honored by Wilson’s having a street in Ada named the Charles Moore Turn. Following retirement, he worked with his son, Chuck, at his business, Critters No Moore. Charles was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting, trapping and planting his garden.  He was a big part of his community and neighborhood, always willing to lend a hand to those in need.  One of his most proud accomplishments, was his family, he was always there for them when they needed him the most.  Visitation will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM & 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME.  A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at the SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME where additional visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service.  Burial will follow in Preston Cemetery.  Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Charles to the Kenton Conservation Class through Kenton High School or Hardin County Dog Shelter.  Online condolences can be expressed to the family by visiting stoutcrates.com
