Craig L. Holmes, 84 of Findlay passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 11, 2024. He was born in Waterford, PA on September 8, 1939 to the late Cecil H. and Thora L. (Delavern) Holmes. Craig married Lynda J. Humes on July 22, 1961 and she preceded him in death on July 13, 2013. He is survived by his daughter, Hillary A. (Chris Coughlin) Holmes of Findlay and a sister, Sally (James) Vogt of Erie, PA. Craig was a 1957 graduate of Fort Le Bouef High School. He attended Gannon College in Erie, PA. Craig grew up in his families John Deere dealership in Waterford, Pennsylvania before he began his career working for JI Case Company as a territory representative, eventually moving to Findlay to manage the JI Case dealership. Then in 1972 he opened Findlay Implement with 4 employees. The dealership grew to 8 locations and over 150 employees before he retired in 2022. Craig was the director of the Ohio-Michigan Equipment Dealers Association for 8 years. He was also a member of the Findlay Country Club, the Free & Accepted Masons, Lodge #227, Findlay Shrine Club and St Andrew’s United Methodist Church. Craig loved helping children and was a big supporter of the Hancock County Jr. Fair and The Boy Scouts of America.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024 from 2:00 – 7:00 PM at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 16, 2024 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. A graveside service will be held in Waterford, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in memory of Craig to the Hancock County Agricultural Society, the Craig Holmes Family Adoption Assistance Fund with the Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation or the Findlay Shrine Club.
