Obituary for David Allen Routt

David Allen Routt, 76, a long-time resident of Big Springs, Ohio died 

peacefully on Saturday, September 24th, 2022 after a lengthy battle 

with dementia.

Dave was born on July 12th,1946 to the late Chester Allen Routt and Pauline 

Helen (VanBuskirk) Routt in Bellefontaine, Ohio.

Dave attended Benjamin Logan School and was drafted into the military 

where he served in the Army Engineer Corps. in Vietnam for 2 years.

Dave Retired in 1995 at the age of 49 from being a Dredge Operator at 

Indian Lake State Park for more than 30 years. He enjoyed attending 

family functions and farming his own farm until dementia made it 

too difficult.

Dave is survived by his big brother John Ellis (Cathy) Routt of Kenton, 

numerous cousins, and many nieces and nephews who loved him 

dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents Chester and Pauline 

Routt.

A funeral service for David will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton. Burial will follow at Rushsylvania Cemetery. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 27, 2022. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Amvets Post 1994 in Kenton.
