Obituary for David C. Mason

David C. Mason age 84, of Upper Sandusky, died on Saturday February 15, 2020 at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay.

He was born August 3, 1935 to the late Harold L. and Helen (Cox) Mason. He married Marcina S. Hehr on March 22, 1958 and they celebrated 61 years of marriage. Marcina survives in Upper Sandusky. He is also survived by his sons David B. (Rheta) Mason of Upper Sandusky and Michael B. Mason of Upper Sandusky, 3 grandchildren Kate (Josh) Loverich and their children Grady, Sawyer and Landry of Upper Sandusky, Ian (Krystal) Mason and their children Cecelia and Maren of Harpster and Christian Mason of Carmel, IN, brother James (Linda) Mason of Murrieta, CA, sisters Cathryn (Harold) Keller of Richmond, VA, and Mary (Thomas) Droessler of Cary, NC, father-in-law Charles Hehr of Upper Sandusky and brother-in-law John Hehr of The Woodlands, TX. He is preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law John and Anne Mason.

David was a 1953 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School. He attended Ohio Wesleyan University and graduated with a law degree from Ohio Northern University. Dave practiced law first with his father then with Mark Ellis for over 50 years. He was the Upper Sandusky Law Director and Nevada Law Director for many years. He was a member of the Wyandot County Bar Association and the Ohio State Bar Association. He was honored by the Ohio State Bar Association for 50 years of active practice. He was a Director Emeritus of First Citizens National Bank.

Mr. Mason served in the Ohio National Guard. He was a life member of B.P.O.E. Elks #83, member American Legion Post #225, AmVets Post #777, Masonic Lodge: Warpole Lodge #176, McCutchen Chapter #96, Upper Sandusky Council #98, Commandery, Aladdin Shrine, member and past president of Wyandot County Shrine Club. For hobbies he enjoyed hunting & fishing and was an avid sports fan. He and his family have fond memories of spending time at his log cabin at Ellis Lake. In the summer, you would find him at Middle Bass Island enjoying the laid back atmosphere. Dave will be remembered for his genuine concern for others with sharing and giving, having a happy smile and walking down the street with short steps at a fast gait!

Visitation will be held on from 3pm to 7pm on on Friday February 21, 2020 at BRINGMAN CLARK Funeral Home and from 10am to 11am on Saturday February 22, 2020. A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday February 22, 2020 at 11am at BRINGMAN CLARK Funeral Home with Rev. Betsy Bowen officiating.
