of Urbana (formerly of Kenton)

A visitation for David Fleece will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, February 21, 2022 at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton. Burial with a committal service will take place at a later date at Roundhead Cemetery.

David died on February 16, 2022 at his residence. He was born on November 23, 1948 in Kenton to the late Charles and Jean (Danner) Fleece. He married Connie Barnes and they later divorced. He then married Susan Havens in August of 1989 and she survives in Urbana.

Also surviving are 2 daughters; Shellie (Bill) Crabtree of Kenton, Jodi Fleece-Hoop of Westerville, 9 grandchildren; Dustin, Lance, Jarid, Travis, Evan, Mason, Marley, Brooke,  and Shania, 6 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by 2 infant siblings, 1 brother; Dewayne Fleece, 1 grandson; Brady Lee Hoop and 2 Son-In-Laws; Tony Hoop and Warren Turner.

David was a 1967 Upper Scioto Valley graduate. He worked many various jobs but mainly was a Hardin County Sheriff’s Deputy and a consultant for Alltel Phone Company. 

He was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Urbana. He was a Mason of the Dunkirk Lodge, served on the Kenton City Council, was President of the Sheriff’s Auxiliary and also on the MRDD Board of Hardin County.

David loved to be involved with his community. He coached and umpired for the Kenton Little League, was a  4-H advisor and taught Hunter Safety Education. In his free time he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Memorial contributions may be made to the USV Student Needs Fund or the Brady Shick Memorial Fund.
