A visitation for Denise K. Dobbelaere-Althauser will be held from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at the Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton. Burial in Live Oak Cemetery in Paulding, Ohio will be held at a later date.

Denise passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at her residence in Kenton. She was born on June 25, 1966, in Paulding, Ohio to Morris Dobbelaere of Paulding and the late Viola (Harrow) Dobbelaere. 

Surviving is her father, her two children; Jackson Althauser, Delaney Althauser, 5 siblings; Cathy (Larry) Thornell, Cindy (Rich) Skiver, Tom (Shelly) Dobbelaere, Tim (Tammy) Dobbelaere, Carol (Mark) Gross, numerous niece and nephews, and a special friend, Randy Scharf.

She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Franny Dobbelaere and a sister, Julie Dobbelaere. 

Denise loved to serve Hardin County as their treasurer. She has worked as the Treasurer since 2009, and recently was elected President of Ohio Treasurer’s Association. She was a member of the Kenton Moose as well as the Hardin County Republican Executive Committee and held office in the Hardin County Womens Republican Association. Denise also volunteered for Not By Choice Outreach in Kenton. 

In her free time, Denise enjoyed gardening and quilting. In her children’s younger years, Denise loved to help her kids with their lamb projects for the Hardin County Fair as well as watching them show at the fair.

Memorial donations in Denise’s honor may be made to the Hardin County Community Foundation or the Paulding County Foundation.
