Services for Doris M. Later will be private. Burial will take place at a later date. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.

Doris died on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at The Hardin Memorial E.R. She was born on August 10, 1955 in Kenton to the late Morris Spangler and the late Agnes (Carol) Spangler Hattery. She married Carl Later in 1983 and he preceded her in death in 2007.

Surviving are a significant other; Rick Stoner of Kenton, 2 sons; Jay (Astoria) Wilson of Whitehall, Gene Later of Rockbridge, 2 daughters; Jody Donaldson of Rockbridge, Cindy Later of Rockbridge, 3 sisters; Shirlene Conley of Richwood, Delores (Jim) Kougher of Kenton, Lula Cathy (Roger) Kemmere of Kenton, a brother; Gene (Tonya) Pettit of Kenton, 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by 6 brothers; Jimmy Spangler, Walt Spangler, Pete Spangler, Roger Spangler, Don Pettit, and Bill Pettit.

Doris worked as a nurse for many years and had been attending the First Baptist Church in Kenton.

In her free time, Doris enjoyed playing cards and board games. She especially liked to play and spend time with her family and grandchildren. Doris also enjoyed crocheting and loved to buy new shoes. She had a love for animals, especially her dog.

Memorial donations may be made to the Hardin County Humane Society.
