Edna Dehl Pleasant, 102 passed away Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Vancrest of Ada, Ada, Ohio.

She was the middle child in a family of 13, born on February 10, 1921, to Irene (Purdum) and Samual Jones in Ross County, Ohio.

Edna graduated from McClain High School in Greenfield, Ohio, in 1939.  Edna married Paul Pleasant in 1941, near the beginning of World War II.  Paul was soon stationed in England while Edna assembled Hell Diver airplanes at the Curtis Wright factory in Columbus, Ohio.  By the end of the war, Edna and Paul settled in Kenton, Ohio, starting their family.  Edna was a seamstress, reupholstering furniture with Paul (Edna’s Upholstering), and also operated a fish and tackle store at their home. She was very active in the Methodist Church and later at Central Church of Christ.  She enjoyed making Crafts, Quilting, and Cooking for all occasions.

She is survived by her son Ron (Carol) Pleasant of Kenton, Ohio.  Grandchildren: Kevin Pleasant (fiancé, Crystal Stannard), Nickalyn Pleasant Taylor; Nicia (Chris) Irwin, David (Kristina) Michael, Leah (Scott) Velasquez, Heidi (Doug) Collins.

Great-grandchildren: Chloe & Walker Pleasant, Layne & Lyndi Taylor; Olivia Oldham, Adalae Stevens; Aiden, Kila, Leeland Michael; Andrew (Mariah), Joshua, Daniel (Noelia), Kaylea Irwin; Hannah, Ellie & Julia Velasquez; Taylor (Paige), Karissa Collins; Colton & Parker Stannard. Daughter-in-love Jaynie Michael.

Preceded in Death: Husband, Paul Pleasant, Parents, 5 Sisters & 5 Brothers, Daughter, Nila Sue Michael, Grand-daughter Rachel Pleasant Oldham, and Son-in-law Jacob Michael.

Presiding; Eulogy by David Michael, music by Doug Collins, Scott Velasquez, and great-granddaughters, reading Nicia Michael and prayer by Chris Irwin.

Visitation will be on Thursday, October 5, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM.  The funeral service will be Friday, October 6, 2023, at 2:00 PM, at Schindewolf-Stout-Crates Funeral Home, Kenton, Ohio.  Burial will follow at Wolf Creek Cemetery.
