Burial for Franklin D. Cooper will be held in Grove Cemetery at a later date. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
Franklin died on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. He was born on April 4, 1947 in Kenton to the late Thorton and Gladys Cooper. He married Connie Graham and they later divorced. He then married Deanna Hastings on November 2, 1991 and she survives in Forest.
Also surviving are a daughter; Jody Sharpe of Lima, sons; Robert Cooper of Tampa, FLA, Joe Hatch of Kenton, Frank Messenger, Scott Messenger, a granddaughter; Cidra Billiel, a great-grandson; Lennox Higgins, and several siblings, nieces and nephews.
Franklin was a National Guard Veteran.
He was a Kenton Police Officer and a volunteer Firefighter in Kenton for many years. He retired from United Aircraft in Forest after 30 plus years of service.
Franklin was extremely handy. He could fix or do anything that he put his mind to and enjoyed staying home and taking care of his home and yard. In his free time Franklin loved to be outdoors. He loved riding his motorcycle or being in the woods hunting.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Franklin’s honor may be made to the Shop with A Cop Program through the Kenton Police Department.
